Reptile Contest
We really liked the reptile garden. The kids would compete to see who could find the animal first. It was sometime pretty hard.
Skyfari
It took a little nerve to ride these sky rails but the kids did it. I tried to talk a bunch of pictures but as I moved around it would rock the car we were in. Both Jaz and Shawn would shout "Nana!". So I tried my best not to rock the car.
Cat by the tail
You've heard of having a cat by the tail but what do you do when you have a Saber Cat by the ears!!!!
Pandas
We were back for the 4:30 feeding. They were awake and eating but kept their backs to us. I thought that was a little rude but at least they were awake.
Arctic Owl
Jazmyn picked the Arctic Owl for her souvenir to take home. It will go well with the Arctic Fox from Sea World.
Just staying hydrated
Here is Shawn and his souvenir cup on his refill. He kepted biting the top so much he had to get a new one.
Black and white
Zebras are so cool looking. It turns out there are several kinds of Zebras. They can be distinguished by the types of stripes they have and how they are laid out. Jazmyn really enjoyed the Zebras. They are one of her favorites.
Skyfari
The fastest way to get across the park was to take the Skyfari ride. It was a pretty awesome view of the park.
Giant Panda Bear
We finally reached the Giant Panda Bears. They were very cute! They looked like a cute teddy bear. I couldn’t imagine being attacked by one. I would just be thinking how cute it was while it was biting my leg off. Jazmyn really wanted the see the Pandas. It was what she was talking about for the last couple of days. Unfortunately, they were sleeping so we decided we would come back at 4:30 when they were being fed.
Keeping Hydrated
It was hot so I encouraged the kids to drink a lot. Shawn bought this souvenir cup that holds 16 oz . It has free refills. This kept him hydrated even if we did need to stop at the restroom a lot. Jaz on the other hand never had to go at all. I bought her several drinks , at 4.99 each, but she hardly drank any of it.
New Hat
The sun was pretty hot and Jaz had got a little sun burned yesterday at Sea World, so when she wanted to buy this hat I said OK. Even though I put sun block on her I thought it would be good to keep her face out of the sun. By this point in our trip the only way I can get a picture of the kids is if they don’t know I’m taking the pictures.
Souvenirs
The Zoo had these souvenir machines all over. You put in a penny and turned the crank and you get a smashed penny back with something imprinted on it. Shawn was very nice and paid for Jazmyn’s souvenir because he knew she liked Arctic Foxes and they had one on this machine.
Good friends
We saw the sweetest tigers. They were laying together and the one tiger was actually petting the other! It was so cute everyone was ooohing and aaaahing.
Where are we?
Shawn wanted to hold the map and tell us where to go. So he became our navigator. He planned out a route to see the giant Panda bears. There was a little friction between Shawn and Jazmyn. The Zoo is pretty complicated with all the intermingling of trails. So figuring out the map was pretty hard sometimes. Mean while Jaz would just read the signs that were marking the trails and announce “it’s this way Shawn” Which of course just made Shawn upset. But ignoring that he had a lot of fun being our navigator.
